C.O.N.E.C.K.T is a social enterprise company that uses technology to develop different platforms to connect and network with a number of corporates, donors, charities, and NGOs. Our focus is on those involved in empowering and uplifting the most vulnerable, marginalized people in our communities. These include children, ex-substance abuse users, the aged, people with disabilities, and the neurodiverse population.
We are involved in unique fundraising activities and in assisting these various organizations to become sustainable. The key to success here is improving governance structures and raising the levels of professionalism.
A second focus area is the creation of employment opportunities that did not exist before within these organizations and for a number of the beneficiaries of the various programs and projects. A major spin-off of these various activities is a project to upcycle waste and the creation of products for sale that bring in a sustainable revenue stream.
NGOs, NPOs, and PBOs have been working in isolation for years. They have been connecting with donors separately and almost selfishly without even knowing that there is another organization doing the same thing, but without sufficient resources.
What C.O.N.E.C.K.T does so well provides a very much needed platform for these same organizations to share information and resources, support each other, and access affordable services and most of the time in partnership with each other. We are affiliated with more than 300 NGOs, like the Teddy Bear Foundation, Childline, The Angel Network, The Ahmed Kathrada Foundation, and the Department of Social Development. Our corporate partners include a large retailer, a major telecommunications company, and a well-known technology company.
In the words of one of our “dots’ as we call them:
“C.O.N.E.C.K.T is a unique and progressive organization that successfully facilitates collaboration between NGOs, with the aim of sharing resources and ideas versus working in silos. The impact they have already had on individual lives and various organizations is a testament to the powerful and valuable network of connections they have formed and the passion they have for making a difference”
